Things I Wanna Know

Does anyone know what the top part *points up* of the blog is called? The banner maybe? I mean the part at the tippy top that says *Bits and Odd Pieces* and all that goes along with that? How do I add a picture to it or gussy it up?? I have seen wonderful creative ones out there but do not know how to do it. Do I need to find someone to design it and pay for it or what?

Can anyone translate a word into Chinese for me and write it out? I am working on a craft project and need a word written out for me. It is a secret project so email me if you can help me out!!

Rachel, Annie and I wanna swap ephemera. Anyone else wanna jump it? You will only be out your shipping cost since you would already have the ephemera that you would want to send.

I had a really weird dream last night. I mean WEIRD! Stop here if you do not wanna know more....

I had 5 zits on my nose. I was able to get the zits out and the holes closed immediately. You could not even tell that there had been anything at all wrong with my nose. Weird thing was that a seed pod came out of each zit. Each was about the size of an eraser and they were round and golden in color and hard like a bead. It did not freak me out in the dream and it was so real! What in the heck does that mean???? And no....I was not drinking.

Why do we not play that *remember when* game more often in comments. Now THAT was fun!!

Why do I keep buying tofu when I have no clue what to do with it? What can be done with tofu that does not include flour, sugar, or cheese?

Why don't I look as good as Jo(e) naked?

Why big bucking chicken? Now don't get me wrong....I like him much better than that stupid Burger King dude!

Will you please vote for NIKKI PAYNE to get back on Last Comic Standing? She was so damned funny on the show and I cannot believe that she did not get picked to go into the house!

So, what might you like to know?? Ask me anything!

  1. I always call the top part of the blog the masthead, cause its kind of like the masthead of a newspaper. I don't know if that's right or not.

Too bad about your big beady boils. That is certainly od!

  3. hey there...it actually isn't that difficult to add a picture to the top of your blog...although I am a novice myself. You 1st have to find a picture. Then, if you want, you can use Photoshop to edit it. Blogger will host pictures for you, so you just have to upload it in a post and then grab the html from the post.

Once you have the html, you can then past it in your template. You may have to fiddle around with it (I would copy and save your current template) but it should work.

I, myself, am still trying to figure it all out and may have better tips for you after this weekend :)

    Good luck!

  4. I can send you a terrific recipe for ma pa tofu (chinese) if you're interested. no sugar flour or cheese.
I thought bucking chicken was supposed to sound like f*ckin chicken. I thought it was because they couldn't say the eff wrd on tv. ?? but then, I think that EVERYTHING is about the eff word! haha

Amature Dream interpretation: You have wounds or flaws that have been healed but have produced fruit in your life that make you who you are.
OR: it could mean that you are soon to create a major film screenplay that will make it big in hollywood and make you very very rich.
but then, I dont really know how to interpret dreams, either. it might have something to do with the EFF WORD!!

  5. Tofu. Take an extra firm block. Cut it into 1/2 inch sections. Blend together 1 Tbs soy sauce, 1 tsp. sesame oil, sesame seeds. Microwave tofu block for 1 minute on high. Pour sauce over it. Eat.

Tofu is also great in fruit smoothies.

In Jungian dream analysis you take the point of view of each character/aspect of the dream to try to determine his/her/its significance and what aspect of or truth about yourself he/she/it is there to present. So try being the seed pod. What is inside, what kind of seed? What was it like being stuck/trapped and finally getting out?

Stop laughing, I'm semi-serious about this. This really can be a helpful approach to dream analysis. The old dictionaries of what all these symbols "mean" don't cut it because nothing can have the same meaning for everyone. Sometimes a cigar really is just a cigar.

  7. I loved Nikki Payne! OMG me and FSIL laughed so hard last night. She was the best and I can't believe she did not get picked. Those judges are stupid!!! I am going to write a letter. And What is ephemera? Cause I might want to swap that too! And Lydia has a cookbook for tofu, so I will get her to bring it to work and I will get you some recipes.

  8. I might can help, Mindy. The top part of the blog is called the header. You do have to tinker with things a bit to get a picture that will fit correctly without stretching out. There is a site where you can put the photo and then put it in the header from the site (I can't remember the name of the site at the moment, but I can find it easily enough). I did all that when I put my photo in my header, and maybe I can figure out to help you do yours. Do you have a particular photo in mind? Let me know if you want some help.

  9. Aw, man. I've got a zit on my nose right now you wouldn't believe. I wish it were a dream! :) I've taken to telling the 8-year-old (an only child) that it's his little sister. Okay, I'll put a few coins in the therapy pot for that one...

  10. Tofu-

Exactly what OTRGirl said, except don't microwave it, fry it in some oil with garlic. Slice it into thin slices and fry it on high heat. It is delicious!

My husband makes a dish (Vietnamese) where he fries big blocks (about 1"x1"x2") and then cuts up fresh tomatoes and onions, sautes the onions, adds the tomatoes and some soy sauce and pepper and when the tomatoes have cooked down, adds back the tofu chunks. Serve with soy sauce and fresh snipped basil. (He adds a bit of Vietnamese fish sauce if you are feeling adventurous!) Delicious!

  11. You have all helped me so much!! I think between us all, we will be able to update the look for my blog.

I love all of your help on the dream. zorra...you helped alot. You can analyze me anytime. I am still not sure what it meant but I am leaning towards it being a very good thing.

And thank you for the recipes (except for you Ootl ~laffin~). That makes me feel like I can finally buy tofu with a purpose in mind!

JWD *snorts* his little sister...you are a hoot!

Again....thank you all so much for your help and HELLO all you new people!! Please stick around for awhile!

  12. Or it could just mean you need to blow your nose....

  13. The best thing I've ever done with tofu doesn't fit your requirements, but it's still good. You need silken tofu for this (if you don't know what that is, ask at a natural foods store). Tofu chocolate pie! Yum. If you want, I can dig up the recipe.

When you learn how to put a photo in your banner, can you teach me?

  14. Whatever you do, BE SURE to, make open your template and make a copy of it as it is now and save it to Word or somewhere. That way if you mess up our template (and you probably most certainly will), you can at least paste the old template back in and restore order to your blog!

(I just messed mine up fiddling around with the picture in the header part. I got it fixed already, I think.)

I would have emailed but my Yahoo mail is acting goofy...
