One Little Week Ago...

I was in Roswell already. ~sighs~ It was wonderful. The rain and the lack of news was refreshing. This is what rain clouds look like kiddos. Bebo and I had a blast. We did the total tourist thing. We went to all of the UFO *museums* and looked at all of the *evidence*. We bought postcards and mailed them out. We put pennies in machines and squished them. We hiked up and down the streets lined with novelty stores and just did not have a care in the world. It rained the first day. I did not know how much I had missed the rain. We were in Wal Mart buying cokes for our room's fridge when the down-pour began. Did you know if you cannot get out to your car in the pouring down rain and the traffic at the entrance to Wal Mart begans to back up by say of 200 people.....they will begin to hand out free Wal Mart umbrellas? Yep they do and Yep I now own one! I am a sucker for free stuff.

The second day we went to I-Hop for breakfast. That made Bebo happy.
This is my long haired Bebo and his GIANT breakfast that he was very pleased with! After eatting, we went on over to Carlsbad to tour the cavern. It was awesome! If you are going, it is worth calling ahead and getting booked on a guided tour. The only problem of the day was getting Bebo on the elevator. He likes them not so much. Had no problem at all being a gillion miles under ground but did not like the elevator to get down and then back up. We decided to stick around for the bat flight that happens at about 6:30pm. We were sitting there at the outdoor theater for about an hour just waiting when what should happen again but RAIN! So we sat out in it for awhile again before running for cover. The bats refused to come out in the rain so we headed back to Roswell. The rained smelled so good and again made us very happy. It was about 8:45pm when we got back so we ate at Denny's. Yep Bebo was very happy again.

Saturday we got up and just hit a few places that Bebo and I wanted to go back to before heading back to the City of Fiberglass Cows. In all, we ended up traveling about 671 miles by the time we got back home. It rained on us again just over the Texas line. We stopped the CRV and took pics of the rainbow that I have already posted. My windshield is still messed up because of the rain but I have not cleaned it. You can still see where the little raindrops fell and I love it. It was good just to get away from everything.

For just a little while things were simple. Sometimes simple is a very good thing.

  2. AAwwww poor baby. You *can* hike down into the cave you know. It took alot of convincing to get me on that elevator too. I do NOT LIKE THEM either. (REAL sympathy beams here ya know) And I wanna see the foil hat picture. Did you take one? I think you promised...

  3. I'd rather ride the elevator than be down in those caves I think. I'm so glad y'all had a good time and got to experience rain again!

I have enjoyed the post cards very much (though my 14 YO says I ought to get a PO box if I am going to exchanging mail with strangers on the internet. I told her it was ok, you are a mean ole probation lady!)

  9. Glad you two got to have a great trip, especially while Bebo is still enjoying being around his mom. (Well, you are a pretty cool mom; maybe it will last a bit longer.) So NOW are you coming back to Sunday school? We miss you.
