I have been hopping around on the net and seeing several blogs that are making fairy jars. CUTE CUTE CUTE! Here is a flickr page that has several of them. Aren't they adorable?!?!?! I even found a blog that did a zombie jar swap! A couple of those sitting around at Halloween could be really cool!

I really like this project and I have thought about making one but never got around to it. I even bought some cool little jars at the thrift store but just have not been inspired to give it a go.

Recently, a friend of mine has been kinda down. Life has just sort of kicked her around a bit. She works here so you know that she is quirky like the rest of us. The poor dear cried when she heard that Tim Russert had died. (SEE! I am not the ONLY weird one!). Now when we want to see her cry, we just mention good ole Tim Russert and she just puddles.

So what did I make her so that she would feel better?

I had to explain to Tim that he was actually going into the live. He fought me for a bit until I told him that I would give him sparkly butterfly wings. That kind of called him down.
I added a bit of bling to the top of the jar. Tim thought that it was not very manly but I assured him that it was more for HER benefit and not for his. I also assured Tim that I was not gluing the jar lid down and that anytime he felt the need to get out for a bit, he could just tap on the side of the glass and we would give him a breather. One of the things that my friend and I have talked about is value. What is your value? We have to remind ourselves at time that our value is a lot. When she feels like hers is low I remind her. She does the same for me.

I wanted her to know that Tim thinks that her value is always A LOT.

And Tim would not lie.
......wonders who she is going to put into a jar next......

I have been trying to do some things that I do not have to really think about. My brain seems like it has taken a vacation. It seems like everyone in the world is stressed out and the bad news just keeps on rolling in. People are just at an all time low and it does not look like it will be letting up soon.

So, I went to my mom and dad's house for a few days in order to create. We worked on painting her utility room. Loving it! I will show you those pics once she gets it all decorated.

I also got to work on her bistro table and chairs that were outside. I took the chair.....

and recovered it with a green polka dot fabric. Isn't it so sweet! I then covered it in vinyl in order to waterproof it. Mom found the vinyl in the remnent section so go thrifty us!!

I also recovered the table. Mom bought an inexpensive plastic table cloth at the Wally Store and we cut it down to fit. Again, thrifty.

How the whole set looked once I was finished!
We even had enough left over to cover a little stool that she has on her front porch.
So now there are two things that I want to know:
1) What are we going to do to make our little corner of the world a more happier and less stressful place and
2) When is YOUR birthday?
I know there are lots of you that read the blog so I want you to chime in and be good girls and boys and leave your birthday in comments.
And no you do not have to leave what year you were born in.
Photobucket......who is open to suggestions about what to blog.....

That I am indeed weird! And no, this one is not an anomaly.
It should not be difficult for someone to follow the contour of the lipstick and apply their lips flawlessly in one smooth stroke.
Obviously it is for me.
I bet you all went and looked at your own lipstick after reading this!

Rachel and I had a talk the other day about scrapbookers and junior league soccer moms. The conversation actually started a couple of months ago when we were invited to a woman group pajama party at a church promising plenty of chocolate and pillow fights! ~sounds like some really bizarre porn does it not?~ The conversation that day ended with me telling her that, if I had not gotten divorced...I may just have BECOME one of those women.

I find my mind going back to that last sentence and wondering what if? What if the marriage had worked? What if I had gone to college right out of high school? What if I had turned left instead of right?

Would I be some drama teacher getting her students ready for UIL? Would I be that stay at home mom with the mini-van heading up the local chapter of the PTA? Would I have been a women of passion? A mover and a shaker?

Don't get me wrong, I love this life that I have. I have a sweet sweet life and I am totally aware of it. I am not sad or maudlin at all. I am not even looking for comments filled with praise and atta girls! My head knows that everything is alright. It really is alright.

I just feel like I woke up this morning and I am not really for sure who I am. Like someone jumped into my body while I slept last night. I am just curious as to who Mindy was originally supposed to be? Who could she have been along the way? Did I miss anything?

Maybe this is a fork in the road and I am about to leap into a great adventure.....

Then again, maybe this is just my brain working hard to close some chapters on a book that I was not really interested in anyway.

MINDY....who promises no scrapbooks or soccer moms were harmed during the posting of this blog....

I come to work and realize that I have messages on my answering machine.

I reach over and enter my code to retrieve my messages.

~perky lady's voice that I sometimes argue with cause she holds my messages hostage at times~

*You have ONE new message*

The message begins:

"Hi Mindy, this is Otis Campbell and I need to take your class. Remember me? I have been in your class before. Mr. Official told me that I needed to call over there and see when I can get into your next class. I got in trouble...again.

Give me a call when you get the time or I will call you back. I will try to get back to you cause I want to take that class soon.

Thank you Ma'am."

This is where Otis THINKS that he has hung up his telephone. Problem machine is still recording and Otis is still talking....

"That's the cute little lady that taught that class last time. She is a big tittied red headed girl. Man, her titties are the ONLY reason why I made most of those classes."

Glad to know that my titties could have been help.

Otis will not be taking my class.

.....who KNEW super powers could come in such large packages!!

WOW....JUST WOW.....

Have you ever had one of those days? One of those days that you have waited years for? Someone that you still think about ever few days? Wondering? Saying a little prayer over?

I lost contact with a person many many years ago that I have regretted ever since it happened. I have tried and tried to find that person but was never able to.

Then, out of the blue, I find his brother on facebook. We become friends...then...a few days

Can't the Internet be a wonderful fabulous thing???

I am still just totally blown away. A few emails have been exchanged. He has a cool life and a wife that he totally loves. A sweet life.

And I feel like I have someone back in my life that should have never been out of it. Like a piece has been restored.

Why do we let people get away?

.....wonders if anyone has ever missed her that way....

I was gone for just a few days but you people blogged like crazy squirrels on crack while I was gone! I came back to 179 new entries on google. Like I am going to get to read all of those entries!

Last weekend everyone in my family went totally opposite directions. Babygator and Biker went skiing, Bebo went to Dallas to see our boys and girls b-ball teams play for State and my parents and I went to Canton Texas!! Our trip was kinda sorta last minute and that was why I did not tell the bloggy world ahead of time. I know that I missed out on meeting up with some close bloggers.

For those of you that do not know what Canton is...OMG!! You need to go. This is how it is described: **The world's largest outdoor trade days takes place Thursday through Sunday before the first Monday of every month in Canton, Texas. Every month, thousands of vendors from across the country turn this friendly East Texas community into a shopper's paradise where you can find the rare antiques and collectibles, furniture, fine home decor, arts and crafts, clothing, jewelry, tools, produce, and much more. Make plans now to come to Canton and enjoy the First Monday shopping experience.**
Never fear! We are going to take an all girl trip back to Canton in 2-3 months!

All week long it had been in the 70's and 80's until we got there. We went through Canton with the temp at 40 degrees and wind chills in the 30's. Did I mention that LOTS of Canton is outside?? Did not stop us from shopping. Gosh only knows how much money I would have spent if the weather had been nice!! My mom and I switched jackets at one point because mine had a hood on it. Her ears were so cold! So she put her hood on and tied it up like she was a 6 year old. My mom is a little bitty person and looked even smaller with her hood tied like that. At one point I looked over at her and just busted out laughing. There she was looking so itty bitty and there was my button on the jacket proclaiming "I HAVE BIG SEXY BRAINS TOO!" My mom demanded that I remove the button once she realized what I was laughing about.

How far are YOU from Canton and would you consider a meet up some where when I go back??
For your entertainment.....I will share a few of my pictures from the trip.

See how well Bebo packed his toiletries?!?!?!? All nice and neat! Everything a he man needs for a 3 night 4 day trip to the big city. Shampoo? Check! Toothbrush? Check! Toothpaste? Check! Face Wash? Check! Deodorant? Check! Only thing wrong with this picture is that this well packed bag is sitting on his bathroom cabinet while Bebo is ALREADY IN DALLAS!!!

I took lots of pics like this. I was in the backseat part of the time while my daddy drove. I was playing around with my camera. Actually, I was not really playing around. I have a screen that now pops up on the monitor and I do not know why it does that and I cannot get it to stop. I fiddled around with it but never got it to do right. (No, I did not have the camera book with me). As a result, I have about 148 backseat pictures. I will only bore you with this one.
This picture violates one of my own hard and fast rules....NO UP THE NOSTRIL SHOTS! I really do not like how I look in this one but I am wearing a rockin' hat and I LOVE how my mom looks in this picture! Isn't she so pretty and little?
Have you ever wondered what people look like when faced with an armed robber and he says put your hands up and give me all your money or I will shoot you??

They look like this:

....who really did not have a damned thing to say at all but wanted to blog something....
