LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!!

You know that skewed sense of time that they have in soap operas? The one where a baby is born in February and, by August, they are 12 years old? I think that is what has happened in my life.

Allow me to present 15 year old Bebo with his new learners permit. He is allowed to drive with a licensed driver over 21 in the vehicle with him.
He drove to school today while I rode shotgun. The world looks different in the passenger seat.

Through my eyes, I saw this person driving:

  1. Hee hee hee! So funny!

Hey, I don't think that license is valid with the black scribble scrabble all over it! Just sayin'.

Blessings on the driving and the learning and the shotgunning.

  2. Congratulations to Bebo on acquiring his learners permit.

I think teaching the kids to drive was one of the most nerve-wracking things I had to do as a parent. Thank goodnes they all now have a few years experience under their belts, but I still correct them when I ride with them.

Do you have any fingernails left, or are the embedded in the arm rest and dash?
    You are a cool mom!

  4. Oh, yes, my friend. The world looks WAY different from the passenger seat. Just wait until you see how the world looks when he gets his 'real' license and you watch him pull out of your driveway - alone! Talk about life transitions!

Hang in there. Your fingernails will grow back and the tendonitis from stomping the invisible brakes will go away.

And Bebo - congrats, and be careful out there!

  5. Congrats to Bebo for getting his permit and for your surviving. Tell Bebo that is a mighty fine t-shirt and cap he is wearing!!! Go TECH!

  6. Whatever, Baby Brother does not see you as a billion years old. But OMG, I feel so old. My Baby Brother, my tiny precious little baby brother is old enough to drive.

  7. Just a quick question Sis......Does he EVER take that particular shirt off?!?!?!?!:D

  8. Yes he does Jerry! And replaces it with one of 100 other Texas Tech T-shirts that he owns.

  9. I just want to know if the passenger seat has a set of brakes on that side.

  10. Yay Bebo!

    My sympathies, Mindy.

  11. Go Bebo! Go Bebo! Go Bebo!!! Yay!!!

And, Cathy, I'll wager that though if the passenger side does not have an extra set of brakes, it will soon have an open space for them. (hee hee)

Mindy, thanks for the giggle. You're a Super Mom, no doubt.

  12. Tell him he can come drive me around the mountains any time he wants.
(And a shameless plug here but, I am doing my Pay it Forward on my blog since I owe one from winning at Bunny's, so if anyone wants a chance at it... come leave your comment!)

  13. That is so funny about each of you see each other!--and so true! May you both survive the learner's permit stage.

(and that learner's permit does look a bit unofficial!)

  14. ROFL...
I have one of those mental pictures too... except mine does not have a magic ticket to freedom (aka driver's license) but she does have a snake.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my surprise from you - I thought I had blogged that to you. I am using it for my daily journaling and think of you with love every time I do.

    You are WONDERFUL!

    Deb
P.S. I have a deal with my Beloved Bearded Spouse... made on the day I birthed daughter #2 - I birthed them without drugs, HE teaches them to drive. ;)

  17. This is DEFINITELY hysterical.

Alas poor Bebo. When I knew ye first you were in the infant seat. Now you're in the driver's seat.

    Gawd, I'm old.

  18. But not as old as yer maw!!!
