TEH CLOWNS *shudders*
I make it no secret...I am not into clowns. They creep me out. If you need to catch up, here is the story. Scroll down to clownage issues. Some clowns are worse than others but, as a general rule, I just steer clean of them all.
That is why I have not blogged about the McDonald's cow and calf until now. And ONLY for you sweet readers...only for you.
I sucked it up and went to McDonald's this morning in order to take pics. I was a big leery so I approached them from behind. (and no, I did not have an Egg McMuffin)
I was in stealth mode so I could just get the pics and get out of there.
If you look closely, you can see that Mama cow is peeking at me out of the corner of her eye.
When Mama realized that I was there and had a camera, she was MORE than nice. She worked really hard at putting me at ease. She explained that she is a COW first. Then she is a clown. She also told me that she did not put up with that clown pestering people nonsense. That made me feel a lot better.
She also admired my shoes and asked where I had got them. I forgot all about my fear and told her at my thrift store find. I found them at Goodwill on Sunday. They were brand new and had never been worn and they are COMFORTABLE! The arch support is out of this world. I paid my $2.00 for them and happily took them home. Since today is casual Friday, I wore them. I noticed that they had the name tag on the side so I Blingo'ed them. I am wear $90.00 Chaco sandals that I bought for $2.00!!
Who knew that talking about thrifting and sandals would make me let my guard down with a clown??
She does have a nice face. She was very patient and talked to me about all of the photos that she and her little one have had taken. Being on the interstate and in front of McDonald's means a whole lot of kids have stopped by to visit.
She told her calf to stand really still so that I could get a good picture. He was really well behaved.
Isn't this the sweetest little tail? I love the little swish in it! Now who out there does not like a sweet baby's butt?
I have to say--the clown makeup on a cow is pretty damn scary. It's the stuff of nightmares.
ReplyDeleteI am not at all into clowns either. They are of the devil, and are not meant to make us laugh but to scare us and our children!
It looks like those cow clowns have a tear coming out of their eyes.
ReplyDeleteWhat is blingo'ed?
Amy, you and I can sit together if we ever go to the circus together.
ReplyDeleteCathy I will send you an invite right now!! Blingo is so cool!
Glad they were nice to you. Egg McMuffins are kind of nasty. I'm glad you skipped that and went right to the Big Mac and Fries.
ReplyDelete*clown grin*
Rach....don't make me tie your shoe strings together.
ReplyDeleteI have a english muffin with peanut butter. Total 3 weight watchers points thank you very much!
Scared of that, love th shoes.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I really need a pedicure.
ReplyDeleteI've never liked clowns either! They freak me out. That scene in Poltergeist with the clown doll was right from my nightmares.
I hate to say it, since I love the cows but these are some pretty sad looking ones, lol. The *hair* anyway. They should have just put a good Bozo wig on them instead. But then you probably wouldn't have gotten close enough to good pics, would you, LOLOL.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you disinfected those shoes before you wore them... just thinking if all the disgusting feet trying them on in the store squicks me out big time. Because I am sure they don't provide try-on sockies in the Goodwill store. Our GW store is is always full of total crap. I think 90% of it is garage sale leftovers that obviously no one wanted the first time someone tried to get rid of it. I did get that shower seat that one time though... that was a really neato cool deal. It was new and I still Cloroxed the hell out of it.
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you. I tell you...not all clowns are scary. Mostly just ones that are either A) in movies or B) in parades. I don't know what it is about those damned parade clowns but they are just plain scary.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on clowns, ughh!
ReplyDeleteLove your new expensive sandals for $2. My Tod's driving shoes were new at the thrift store here.
Life is good...
Way to SCORE with those sandals!!! I believe you've created Italy shoe shopping karma for yourself now.
ReplyDeleteYou were very brave with thoes cows. But I really don't think they're clowns. The mom just can't do lipstick right without a prehensile thumb.
And if I were McDonalds, I'd move them somewhere else. Look how trim and fit little Pippy Cow Stocking is!! And then look at her mama whose been eating McDonalds all these years!!! Does not bode well for long term thinking customers.
*shudders* clowns...
ReplyDeleteNice shoes...
I'm with you. Clowns are seriously creepy. I hated them even before IT and Poltergiest.
ReplyDeleteThese are really cute, though. I'd love to have some of those red and white stockings! You definately should have had an egg mcmuffin. Next time have 2.
Okay, not it's my turn to lust over your sandals and pout over the price.
Thanks so much for sharing your adventure. It's always nice to get an unexpected smile and a chuckle!
Have a great weekend.
They look like very nice cows.
ReplyDeleteThanks for braving the clown cows for us. They look pretty harmless from here, but what do I know?!?
ReplyDeleteHey Mindy, I think there's another call for the TTOJ up north... go visit net.
ReplyDeleteYay for Presby-Gal's comments! Totally on target!
ReplyDeleteThey still scare me less than Ronald McDonald.
ReplyDeleteOh Mindy! I'm so sorry!! I made you think of clowns.
ReplyDeleteYou were a very brave girl to take the clown/cow pictures.
Me too on Love the Shoes! And? me too on what is Blingo?
I promise, I will not post any stupid clown pictures on my blog.
P. Gal: "Pippy Cow Stockings"!! snork!!!
Er, am I the only one who thinks "mama cow" clown looks a little...er...manly? Looks like she has the body of one of those "sirloin stockade" steers. I know, the clown makeup distracts.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am jealous of your sandal price. Enjoy!
Great thrift store find! I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteEuwww, clowns; although the little one is kind of cute.
totally jealous of the chacos - been drooling over them for over a year. Can't bring myself to spend 90 bucks on sandals. Good find M!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure when Mama cow retires she will get rid of the stupid clown outfit and get herself a pair of cool thrift store shoes.
ReplyDeleteThose are HYSTERICAL!
ReplyDeleteI love that they have cows in front of a hamburger place at all - terrific irony. Then to dress them like Ronald. Oh my.
I'm sorry you're afraid of clowns. I have always loved them. Perhaps one day you should try doing some clowning. It might help you to understand clowns better.
i was checking out your blog last night and the wee one was on my lap. when she saw the princess waving she immediately began to wave and say "hi" over and over and over again. thought you would enjoy that
ReplyDeleteHi Princess...nice to meet another one..love the cows....could you contact Cathy and tell her I can't comment because I don't know what a ULR URL??? is or I don't have one..but I appreciated her PR for my very very new blog... Gail (aka Prgrl...)
ReplyDeleteOK, I hate to break it to ya, but I think that is def a PAPA COW, not a MAMA... the plumbing and all is suspect.
ReplyDeleteI think the clown faces are a little creepy... and I am a clown (mime) myself...
d
Oh.
ReplyDeleteYeah.
What IS Blingo'd???
d
Yup, they are scary... Well, the cows are cute, the Ronald McDonald makeup, not so much.
