So then I went out and bought....

.....a monkey chair. Yes, you read that sentence right. I am now the proud owner of a monkey chair.

About 3 months ago, I went to a garage sale. Bought LOTS of cool things there that I altered and they ended up living at my brothers home. (I will try to find some pics if you want to see them). At that garage sale was, what I refer to as the *The Monkey Chair*. I saw this chair and I wanted it. I WANTED it. There was no rhyme or reason to that want. I do not have a thing for monkies at all. They are nice and all but monkies are just not my style. I told myself all of that and then I backed away from the monkey chair and left.

I was in training last week. We had a bit of time after lunch so we decided to do a little shopping. We went into a store and there she was....the women that had the garage sale....the owner of the store.

Me *Hi! Do you still have that monkey chair that was at your garage sale?*

Her *Yes! Yes I still do!!*

Me *I WANT IT!*

And now, I am the proud owner of a monkey chair. A monkey chair that does not match any room of my house....NOT ONE ROOM.

This is just so unlike me. My mom has decided that I have gone a bit crazy. She will point out that this was something she would have done and not me. I am sometimes frivilous but it is with small items and not large ones.

I am in love with this chair and its beautiful pinks and browns.

My dream is to eventually be able to buy my own home and have a craft studio in it. My monkey chair will live happily in my craft studio.

In the meantime, the monkey chair and I will just have to wait until that dream comes true.

Isn't he so cute?!?!?

  5. It is very cool-looking, but is it comfortable, Grasshopper?

Sometimes things just cal out to us and there is no logical explanation. I like it a lot, even if it is not comfortable!

  12. I love it!
Doesn't go with anything in your house? As if that matters.
Some day it will be the centerpiece of your home and you can decorate around it.

  16. We had a similar I WANT IT experience last year with a lamp.

It's still on that same end table in the living room (minus the nativity set). Does it match anything? No. Do we care? Even less than no.
