2010 PANTIES
photo taken across the street from babygator's at an old grain elevator
I did not make any resolutions for the new year. Instead, I have a word...opportunity. That word appears to be nice and sweet on the outside but, to me, it is a scary word.
Opportunity:
Or let me be perfectly honest, the older I get the less I like change.
Yesterday I worked at turning the phone and the net off so that I could just think. I have been in desperate need of finding the center again because my plumb line is all askew. It finally came back to me....the thing that I have always known and tend to forget.
The key to happiness is clean panties.
I worry about tomorrow and there is no need. I worry about the big things when, in reality, it always always ALWAYS comes back to the little things. There has never in my life been a time that I could not go to my dresser drawer and get a pair of fresh clean panties. So today, I am butting my big girl ones on and will deal with what comes my way.
I am so thankful for:
1) Clean Panties
2) Chemo and medical technology
3) Electric Blankets
4) Family
5) Photos
6) Food in the Fridge
7) Gas in the CRV
8) Money to pay my bills
9) Fur babies
10) Friends that share
11) Wahoo Boards
12) Lap Tops
13) My readers
14) Make believe swords and magic wands
15) People who *get* me
16) Netflix
17) Picnik.com
I adore you all. I really do. Each and everyone of you are my swords and wands.
“Enjoy the little things, for one day, you may look back and realize that they were the big things.”
......okay you know the drill by now! What is it that you are thankful for right this very instant?

Thankful for you Mindy, and how you have often injected cheer and thoughtful balance into my life at just the right time.
ReplyDeleteI am off to blog...immediately!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful you wrote this post. I am so the worry queen - I guess we have that in common. ~hugs~ If it were easy it wouldn't be worth living right? I took a 6 mile walk yesterday to clear my head. It helped, but didn't solve the problem.
ReplyDeleteI am also thankful for sexy clean panties (they always put a shake in my walk) and my electric blanket too. Also the cute little smiles of my little monsters.
Why we are walking the same path, I believe.
ReplyDeleteI washed my panties yesterday, so they are clean today.
Opportunity? Bring it!
Thanks backatcha.
I am always on the search for the 'perfect' panties ... haven't found them yet. I'll just be thanful for clean ones and forget about the panty lines ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for my DBF
ReplyDeletethe internet and cell phone that keeps me in touch with my babies.
clean cotton pink undies!)
they make me feel girlie and dressed up even when I haven't gotten dressed yet!
thank you so much for the "altitude" adjustment!
sometimes you have to think smaller.
My faith. I am so glad that my parents nurtured our love for God.
ReplyDeleteYour lovely post reminded me of two quotes from that little woman, Mother Theresa:
~Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.
~In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.
That about sums up the meaning and our purpose in life, at least the way I see it.
Clean panties are an excellent start. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteI have my Sunday panties on, they're holey!!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for a nice quiet weekend without anything I had to do.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that we're all funnier under pressure. :D
for a guy who will join me for pizza & beer after worship, and gladly watch HGTV with me... *sigh* a perfect afternoon it was.
ReplyDeleteand yes... thankful for:
- stamps to mail letters
- money to live on
- a warm house
- gainful employment
- glasses
- coffee
- humor... b/c without that some days would be too tough to breathe
You. And this window with sunset outside it.
ReplyDeleteYou for starters. My family. That manboy is growing into ManBoy in such a nice way. Clean sheets (I did laundry today). Heated matress pad on cold nights. The love of God seeing my friends through tough times. And way more than I can think of or write right here. One thing I am thankful for is hubby is home at a decent time of the evening, so signing off to go visit with him.
ReplyDeleteWord verification: farogri - I like how it sounds. Now, I have to think of a definition for it.
Hang in there!
Lovin' the clean panties. Always. And not taking them for granted, when there are so many people out there with no clean ones..or none at all.
