What has happened to October?
First off, let me thank you all for leaving me comments or emailing me. I appreciate it. I am back. I am going to try really hard to blog each and every day. I think that might help.
October has always been my favorite month of the year. I love the fall. I love the briskness that comes with this month. It is chilly in the mornings and my feet touch the floor. I love bundling up for the football games. I love the warmth of the electric blanket while my nose and cheeks are cold. I love my birthday being in this month. I wonder if it would still be my favorite month if my birthday was at any other time. I love having a birthday. Getting older does not bother me at all. It is harder for me when Baby Gator.
This year, October has been different for me. It started off unseasonably hot. I hate that. It gave a un-natural feel to this time of year for me. I have had a hard time this month for some reason. I seem to either be stuck in slow motion or in get it done immediately mode. My bed has not been made all month. My kitchen table is overflowing with crafts. My refridgerator died on October 12th. May it rest in peace. The new one delivered to me on my birthday. It makes ICE!! I was able to pay for it in cash. That is a very sweet thing.
Then the plague started. It began while I was watching TV. I SAW a little mouse run across the floor. BeBo did not believe me. The HE saw a little mouse run across the floor. We set the traps the next day. We have now offered up 6 little mouse bodies to the great Sacrificial Mouse so that the plague will freaking stop!! I will let your little gray people go if you just STOP THIS INSANITY.
For once in my life, I am looking forward to November to coming.

Oh kelly, I would LOVE a cat. But cannot have one at the apartment. ~drats~
ReplyDeleteROLF what an October! Sweet :) Hope you had a great birthday !!
ReplyDeletePS just back home, and NO parcel. Most weird - beginning to suspect this has joined your fridge and the mouse offerings!
Lorna, I wonder if it got lost in your county or mine? I am sending you out another. I will let you know when it leaves Texas. I am going to send something different just in case the first one gets to you.
ReplyDeleteJeez, Mindy, no more disappearing, ok? I was FREAKING OUT! Where's Mindy? Where's Mindy? Every flippin' day.
ReplyDeleteHere's to a sweet November with no mice.
~laffin~ Oh YT...I love the word flippin. Thank you for making me laugh.
ReplyDeleteHooray you're back! I was starting to get worried. Don't give up on October yet. Today is really spectacular down here and should be where you are as well. And tonight the World Series comes to Houston for the first time ever. Life is good.
ReplyDeleteWell, I do not think that the Houston part will help me QG but I just went to the Sonic and that is always a plus. And your right, tis a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteHey Mindy
ReplyDeleteNO - no need for another book. I'm fairly sure it will turn up :)
I'm glad you are back - that's all -and not lost in the post too :)
You want cold. I got back to Finland today. It was -5°C when the plane landed. That's about 20C colder than when we left the UK! Brrr
And I think I've picked up a cold at the airport and am due to have surgery this Friday. HELP!
Happy birthday and congrats on the new fridge!
ReplyDeleteHalle-frickin-frackin-lujah!
ReplyDeleteYou had us all so worried. I'd go to Mindy's Little Kingdom, and there was still that picture of the camper, and the people up on the hill. I mean, it's a nice picture and all, but *still*...
I was afraid I'd offended you.
Go see my post from October 7. I "did" you.
Where the hell are the cows? That's what I want to know!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are writing - even while battling the cat flu. (Extra points!)
The *cat flu* makes it sound all warm and cuddly.
ReplyDelete~gives Rach the evil eye~ Wonder who in the world gave it to me??? ~hands Rach and other tissue~
Whew, you're back! We were getting worried. I'm coveting your ice making fridge; enjoy the convenience. AND...Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteoh, I don't like the little mouskies! Cats would do the trick (I know this by experience) but then you'd have to put up with the cat's persnickety personality...and sometimes, stinky litter boxes because the kid who begged for the cat has reneged on the promise to clean the litter box(I know this by experience as well!).
ReplyDeleteI have missed you and now have only one question -- where's the cows, heifer? (hee, hee)
Hey Mom Gator, I am sorry you hard a rather rough month. I noticed how you left out that the Great Hunter Patrick found one of those mouses. HHHMMM ~ponders~ did you really foget? lol. In your second paragraph you had an incomplete sentance, not that I am commenting on your grammar, I am just wondering what the rest of it is. Or maybe I am reading it wrong. Its the last sentance that states..."It is harder for me when Baby Gator." That is all. When Baby Gator what? I love you so much, and I hope Novemeber is better for you. But at least you got some bad ass birthday gifts!
ReplyDeleteThere were gifts with assical badness? Did we miss this? Have I forgotten?
ReplyDeleteWait - I remember being wildly impressed with a gift you brought for show and tell at work. I just can't remember what it was. (Cat flu is effecting memory.)
erm Mindy - did you change the link to songbird's blog?
ReplyDeleteMy boy kept 3 mice in a cage (on purpose) as pets, but our cat had different plans for them So sad. Too bad you can't get a cat... could you borrow one for a few days?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, happy crafting, and may the plague end soon!
ReplyDeletewelcome back.
ReplyDeleteHope November is much better.
It will certainly be cooler. :o)
