Day 21

Day 21:  Today I am thankful for people who tell you things.  I think people think nice things about others all the time.  I don't think that they always tell people those good thoughts.  I believe that the world needs to hear all of the positive things that are out there.  To keep them inside does not really do anything.

Today a lady stopped by work with her precious tow headed 2 year old.  The little ones curls....on my lord.....amazing!  I used to supervise the woman a long time ago.  She was one of those needy people that always had static going on in her life.  She always made me tired.  So, when she came by today, I was not exactly thrilled to see her.  I was sure that there was some other drama playing out in her life that she wanted some help with.

Today she looked at me and said *I wanted to stop by and tell you that I have such a great amazing life now!  I think about you each and every day.  You did not know it then but, you saved my life. You yelled at me and kept on pushing me and that was why I made it.  If you had not cared, you would have not pushed.  I am alive and my child is alive today because of you and I thought that you needed to know that today.*.

I never had a clue.

I cried.  Oh my God I cried.

My last few weeks have been so rough.  I have lost my best friend...someone that I love deeply.  I have felt so lost and so rough.  I believed that nothing that I do/did ever mattered.  Then this woman, someone that I have not seen in 2 years, feels the need to stop by and tell me those words today.  She is a busy person.  She has a 2 year old to keep up with.  But she made time to stop and tell me something that I clung to.

So today, I am thankful for the people that take 2 minutes to lift you up with their words.

I am so thankful

Day 6: Vote

Day 6:  I am thankful that I live in a Country where I can vote.  I live in freedom.  I was lucky enough to early vote last week.  If you have not voted, PLEASE find the time to do so today.  Especially if you are a woman.  Our sisters fought long and hard to insure that we had that right.  It truly IS a privileged.

Teach your children to vote and instill in them that responsibility.

You have the right and the responsibility to cast your vote today.  You always choose to do it in kindness.  Let's stop the ugliness and the manipulation.  Let's quit the whining and the *I am going to delete you from FB if you vote for ______*.  We are so above that.

I am thankful that I have the choice, right and freedom to vote for who I want to vote for.  ~grins~  And I do not have to tell you who it is.

Day 4: The Tribe

Day 4  I am thankful for my tribe.  That group of people that love you and consider you their family whether you are or not.  My tribe is so good to me.  They love me and care for me.  Rush to my aid if need be.  They also kick my ass if it needs kicking.

Your tribe does not tell you what you want to hear.  People who tell you things to placate you are not your friends.   There is no room for yes people.  Your tribe will always be honest with you even if it hurts.  They will hold your mirror up to you and, even with the tears streaming down your face, they will tell you what you NEED to know.  They are the people who wipe the snot off of your face.  They are also the people who say enough is enough take back what is yours. They put your heart back in your chest when it is bleeding all over the carpet.

And they have not one doubt that you will do the same for them in a heartbeat.

My tribe consists of my own flesh and blood, good friends here in town, people I have met that do not live here and people I have never had the privilege of meeting.

I am one flippin' lucky girl.
